ITEC NOMADS TAKE THEIR FIRST TITLE OF THE SEASON
[Thursday, December 24, 2009 14:11:56]The Itec Nomads took the huge gap left open by the Maynardt Touchies team on Wednesday by winning Struisbaai for the third year in a row.
In what was easily the tightest round robin of the series thus far, Maynardt Touchies, the series frontrunners, finished last in their pool thus adding no points to their overall total...
Once again, an open tournament qualifier, the Hawaiin Blues caused an upset in the quarter finals by beating the Rugbytech Warriors 1-0. Unfortunately for them they drew the Itec Nomads in the Semi Finals. They gave a great performance and were only narrowly beaten 2-1. The other Semi Final saw the Quali Dwergies narrowly beaten by the Amazing Galaxy Warriors by 1-0.
With the crowd behind them, The Itec Nomads didnt dissapoint with some great touch and they came out deserving winners by 2-0.
The results from the tournament bring at least 4 teams into contention for the Grand Prix and with the next stop at Stilbaai on Saturday the 26th, there is plenty to play for...
