IT'S FUN AND GAMES AT STILBAAI
[Sunday, December 27, 2009 10:44:02]63 Teams entered the 31st edition of Stilbaai Touchies on Saturday and everyone spectators included had a great day even with near gale force winds coming up around luch time.
Ferdi Rabie managed to cause a stir with the Miss Touchies competitors and his backing of the Shufflers who came through a tough competition to record their first win of the series.
Finishing 3rd in their pool, the Shufflers quarter final opponents were the ever dangerous Amazing Galaxy Warriors followed by a Semi Final against the series leading Maynardt Touchies. This was followed immediately by the final against the Itec Nomads...
The Nomads having topped their pool found a slightly easier route to the final beating the Open Qualifier Reds in the quarter final followed by the Rugbytech Warriors in the Semi Finals.
The final played in strong winds produced some awesome touch and the tries scored by the Shufflers were some of the most exilerating seen on the beaches this year. The final score was 2-0.

The Open tournament saw 2 garden route based teams getting far into the tournament namely the Kopkana and Raptors. The eventual finalists however were the Hawaiin Blues and the Reds who overcame their more "Illustrious" opponents in the final...The ladies winners were the Maynardt Touchies...
