Hot Beaches, Hot Bodies, Hot Summer of Touch…
The Hot Summer of Touch once again hits the Southern Cape Coastline in December this year for the 2017 instalment of this hugely popular series. The Tour enjoys its 17th year on the beaches and the action will be Hotter than ever.
The series has once again been set-up to encourage mass participation, with a Pro- Series, Challenger Series, Open Tournament, Junior Section as well as a Ladies and over 40’s competition (where the demand allows for it), being available.
Teams consist of a maximum of 8 players and entry fee is R320 per team.
With over 400 teams taking part in 2016, this year’s series is expected to be even bigger and thousands of spectators are expected to flock down to enjoy the hottest action this Summer.
The Pro-Series will showcase the brightest Touch Rugby talent in the country with the top 8 teams cracking the whip against each other for the title of “Kings of the Beach”
Players and Spectators alike can expect more than just a Touch Rugby Tournament with entertainment and laughs provided by celebrity MC Deon Bing, Giveaway’s galore from event sponsors; Urban Art, Island Tribe, Bio Plus and Vodacom. There will also be Miss Touchies and Mr Six Pack competitions not to mention the most exciting and competitive Touch Rugby seen anywhere in the world.
2017 Highlights and noteworthy news includes the introduction of a new venue in Kleinmond, which will take the number of events up to 8 and the introduction of a second day of events in Struisbaai which will see Kite Surfing, Supping, Volleyball and a Colour run together with a big beer garden culminating in the Touchies on the second day. The big highlight of course is the 40th Birthday of Stilbaai Touchies. This year is expected to generate massive amounts of visitors so dont mss out!
